A Talent is a branch of magic. Mages can be inborn to a particular Talent or sub-Talent, or simply trained in the related abilities.

There is much debate about the boundaries of Talents, and the number and specifics of them. For example, many place telekinesis under Motion Magic, others group it under Security Magic or Wind Magic, still others place it under the completely unrelated Talent of Mind Magic, and some simply consider it a separate Talent in its own right.

New, rare Talents are typically discovered by an inborn mage turning up with something previous unheard of.
