Healing Magic

Healing Magic, generally simply called Healing, is an uncommon Talent that allows improving the condition of a living being. Practitioners of Healing Magic are called Healers.

The aura color associated with Healing is white.

Body

Healing Magic can be used to close wounds, mend bones, repair damaged tissue, neutralize poison, and cure disease. A Healer must be very careful to remove any foreign objects still in the body before attempting any healing. Some diseases are more difficult to cure than others, since bacteria are also alive and bombarding them with raw healing energy will not really help a patient.

Healing cannot be used to cure cancer, and if misused, may even cause it in extreme cases. In order to remove cancer, Change Magic must be used instead.

Mind

Healing may be combined with Mind Magic if the caster knows how to use that as well. This can allow dampening pain, reducing fatigue, and healing mental damage caused by psychic attacks, such as repairing broken memories.

With a sufficiently great level of skill and power, Mind Healing may even be capable of correcting mental imbalances. Care must be taken while attempting such, though, and a subject may not necessarily wish their condition to be “fixed”.

Soul

Although it should more properly be considered Soul Magic, healing of the soul is usually grouped under Healing Magic. Soul Magic is rare enough and the soul difficult enough to really damage that it isn't often an issue, though.

More typically, Healing Magic directed toward the soul is intended to bolster the subject's strength of will and permit them to better recover from sickness and injuries. This can often be more effective at curing a bacterial infection than risking improving the health of the bacteria.
